Our throwaway society
Disposable items deserve some thought too.
Throwaway tissues, pens and razors play an everyday part in most households, whilst disposable nappies, which account for four percent of household rubbish, help to swell the contents of many family’s bins. By rethinking our rubbish and choosing durable alternatives, such as hankies and modern re-useable nappies (some of which are very similar in design to disposables) we can help to cut down on our rubbish whilst saving a little extra for our own pockets at the same time. We keep three separate bins at home for used cans, bottles and paper, then drop them off at the local supermarket recycling banks when we ago shopping. It's really that easy!
I'm a great believer that if everyone did a little, then it would go a long way to help the big problem of rubbish.
